Home Energy Rating System (HERS)

When it comes to the HERS Index, our homes are built Energy Smart

The HERS Index is the industry standard by which a home’s energy efficiency is measured. When it comes to your home’s HERS rating, the lower the number the better.

A typical newly constructed American home that meets current industry standards for energy efficiency is given a HERS Index score of 100. This is the benchmark against which all other homes are measured. A lower score means a more energy efficient home, while a higher score denotes less energy efficiency.

  • An Existing Resale Home will have an average score of 130.
  • A New Home built to current energy codes will score 100.
  • A new home by Signorelli Homes scores an average of 64.
